INSURED WARRANTY OVERVIEW A BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty provides you with protection if your BMW bike suffers from a mechanical or an electrical breakdown. A wide range of your bike’s components are covered against failure and also against wear and tear for the first 130,000 km from the date of registration. An Insured Warranty for your BMW motorcycle is an annual policy that you purchase with a one-off payment. You can also choose whether or not you wish to include an excess. This excess is payable each time you make a claim, but including an excess in your policy can reduce the cost of your premium.

FAQs
Do new BMW bikes come with a manufacturer warranty?
All new BMW motorcycles come with a three-year manufacturer warranty. However, once this has expired, you’ll be responsible for covering the cost of repairs and replacement parts if something goes wrong. This is where a BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty comes in. Once your manufacturer warranty has expired, this policy can help to protect you if something goes wrong with a covered component. It will cover the cost of replacement parts and repairs up to the market value of the insured motorcycle at the time of the claim, or up to a maximum of €1,350 – whichever is greater – including VAT and VRT.
After purchasing an Insured Warranty, how long am I covered for?
Your cover will last for 12 months from the policy start date.
Is cover available for motorbikes with a mileage of over 130,000 kilometres?
Sadly, you cannot purchase a BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty if your motorcycle has covered more than 130,000 km at the time of purchase. However, you can still purchase BMW Motorrad Roadside Assistance cover.
When you purchase our Insured Warranty product, you can choose to take out your policy with or without an excess. The excess amount is payable if you make a claim under your policy, and you can choose an excess of €0,€70 or €135. The higher the excess amount you choose for your policy, the lower your premium will be.
What is the maximum claims limit?
The claim limit for a BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty is the market value of the insured motorcycle at the time of claim, or up to a maximum of €1,350 – whichever is greater – including VAT.
Is Roadside Assistance included with this policy?
When you take out a BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty, our Roadside Assistance cover is not included. However, you do receive Warranty Assistance as standard. This means that if your bike breaks down more than 1 km away from your home, we will arrange assistance for you. Whenever practical, we will endeavour to arrange assistance by a BMW Customer Service Vehicle, but if the problem cannot be resolved at the roadside, we will cover the costs of taking your motorcycle to the nearest authorised BMW Motorrad Retailer or BMW Motorrad Service Workshop. However, if you require more comprehensive emergency cover, then you can add Roadside Assistance to your policy. This will then provide you with assistance for motoring emergencies and comes with a comprehensive range of benefits.
